A woody vine with a vigorous growth habit, will climb with support. Good drought tolerance and dislikes constantly wet soil will need watering during protracted dry spells. Produces small white flowers in the middle of vibrant fuchsia papery bracts. Prune immediately after flowering, pinching the tips of new growth will encourage branching and be aware this plant flowers on new growth so repetitive pruning may reduce flowering. Good choice for mass plantings, wall-sided borders, groundcovers and rock gardens. Deer resistant.
